  2. It is set in an England of the Dark Ages which is on the verge of Christian conversion. Arthur is educated in the old ways, yet builds his realm in the new and chivalric ways.

    There is a subconscious theme, although the knights have equal place around the table they serve one purpose. So, as there were once several gods or several kings, there must now be only one true god or course.
