  1. I think you're supposed to do it to someone else's shoes.


  2. The origins are gang-related, but nowadays goofballs take their old shoes and stand below high-voltage lines and throw shoes up, over and over and over, until they stick. It's just goofy, like tagging was gang-related at first, but now is just plain old vandalism.

  4. Back in the day it used to represent that somebody had died in a spot around that power line. Shoes over a power line are much harder to remove than a cross or flowers. Now days I believe people just have nothing better to do with themselves then throw old shoes over power lines.
