  1. It gives some aborignal groups rights and control over the land that had been taken away from them by recognizing that they are the traditional owners. e.g. Kakadu, Jervis Bay.  Of course the land isn't given back to just anyone.  They have to be extremely organised to lodge a claim and be successful... and of course if the traditional land is in the middle of a city - forget it!
