What is the similarities and differences between unicellular and multicellular organisms?

  1. Unicellular organisms are much smaller (with a few exceptions) and contain less organelles. Multicellular organisms are bigger and have more organelles. The main similarities between the two are that both contain DNA and ribosomes. More differences include that unicellular organisms lack a nucleus and their DNA is coiled, residing in the nucleoid region. Unicellular organisms are also much less complex and rarely produce sexually. Bateria for example normally undergo bianary fission, but can also go through conjunction. I'm sure there are more that i'm not thinking of but give me a break b/c I havent though about this since the AP Bio text in mid may =] hope that helps
