What is the simplest formula of a solid containing A, B, and C atoms in a cubic lattice in which A atoms occupy four corners, the B atoms occupy the body-center position and the other four corners, and the C atoms occupy four faces of the unit cell?

A. A3B5C8

B. AB3C3

C. A3B5C6

D. ABC4

E. AB3C4

the answer is E but please explain, i can never understand the cubic lattices

  1. lattice has to do with CORNERS:8 for cubic

    AB3C4 is the only to have 8 atoms  


  2. I think there might be a typo. Aren't there 6 faces, not 4?  I got ABC2...
