I need to figure out how to track grades and attendance, in a simple way.

  1. Use Microsoft Excel.  If you don't have MS Office, you can download, for free, Open Office:

    http://www.openoffice.org

    I've used Excel for over 5 yrs to track progression, grades, and attendance.  I just made my own file with various sheets:  a main attendance sheet, then one sheet for each course.


  2. You could simply take a calendar, and briefly jot down what you did each day.  Then stick all graded papers in a folder and use those to calculate grades.
