Question:

What is the size of my aquarium?

Well i have this pretty big aquarium i think....but i don't know how many gallons it is because its old and i just found it. The measurements are 3ft sideways 1ft wide and 16 inches upward please help.....Thanks oh wait please also tell me how many small fish as in 1in guppys or 3in tetras

  1. My Guess is you tank is a 35gal tank, and as far as how many fish the rule of thumb is 1 inch per gallon so either 35 guppies or 11 tetras and 2 guppies or what have you.

  2. 25 UK gallons, or 30 USA liquid gallons. The rule of thumb is one inch per gallon, so since your tank is 30 gallons, you can have thirty inches of fish. (So if you have 30 fish that are all one inch long, then your good to go. or if you had 6 five inch long fish that would work too, because 6X5 inches is 30 inches of fish, for thirty gallons.) The only place where this rule doesn't apply is in goldfish, where 5 gallons should be given to each goldfish in a goldfish aquarium, and for saltwater aquariums this doesn't apply (it only works for tropical freshwater aquariums.) So you can have any combination of fish (e.g. guppies and tetras) that add up to 30 inches.
