What is the size of screen of 3" in a" x a'?

i want to buy an ipod

its size is written as 3.0 inch in the review

when i take 3.0 inch as a diagonal and make out rectangular of it, it comes very small but the size of the ipod i saw at shop had bigger screen then that rectangle

give me the size of the ipod's screen in a"x a" (example- 2"x 4"}

If the size is written as 3" in the review than that WILL be the diagonal measurement as that's industry standard.

There are two unknowns here so it would be impossible to figure out as there would be many different combinations of height and width to get a 3" diagonal line. Sorry!
