THAT MEANS YOU AND I HAVE TO FIND CLEANER FUEL FOR OUR CARS...(AND HEY, AMERICA,.CORN ETHANOL IS NOT CLEAN, BUT SUGAR ETHANOL, BEING MADE IN SOUTH AMERICA, IS.) WE HAVE TO CONVINCE OUR FACTORIES THAT THE HEALTH OF THEI BUSINESSES DEPENDS ON CUTTING DOWN ON THEIR EMISSIONS.

AND WE HAVE TO STOP CLEAR-CUTTING FORESTS;; TREES USE CARBON DIOXIDE (CO2) FOR PHOTOSYNTHESIS; IN RETURN, THEY POUR OXYGEN BACK INTO OUR AIR.

IT KILLS ME EVERY TIME I HEAR OF A POLAR BEAR DROWNING BECAUSE THE NORTH POLE'S ARCTIC ICE, WHICH THEY REQUIRE TO SURVIVE, IS DISAPPEARING AT A RATE NO ONE EXPECTED.

Global Warming is a trojan horse for Socialism, wake up Americans. Global warming is at the fore front because politicians found how to use a new platform to get re-elected. The world leaders use it because they found ways to make money at it. This is a made up problem just like Global Cooling in the 1970's. Wake up people. I agree we need to be more efficient with our resources, and we should fine and jail companies who are dumping into our rivers maliciously. I want to stop the raiforest destruction, but to say that global warming is a serious man made issue and we need to destroy the American economy and bow down to the rest of the world certainly does not float my boat. Follow the money on this one and you will see that it is all for political gain and grant money for those scientists who profit off of the government if global warming stays at the front of the issues. Look deep into the Keoto (sp?) Treaty, first of all they took jets to a non-central resort location. Not very environmentally concious. THen in the parameters of the treaty they have a clause that makes it so you can buy or sell polution credits. This is all about shifting wealth and breaking down the United States. This is painfully obvious, just look at peoples agenda. The earth's mean temperature has risen .6 degrees C in the past 125 years. Greenland's icecaps have gotten colder in the past 10 years. The Scientists who do not gain anything on their posisition will tell you that the earth has a natural progression and this is what we are seeing. The UN report is made up of POLITICIANS not a good spread of scientists. THere are as many or more scientists who believe that man in NOT the reason and it is over hyped, but their voice is not heard in the LIberal Mainstream Media. This issue is 99% political, and an attempt to make the USA a socialist nation, and eventually communisim. WAKE UP AMERICA, IT IS TIME TO BE AMERICANS. FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE. STOP THE LIES

Stop using fossil fuels. 90% of scientists think it's a man made problem. 13% of Republicans also think the same way. Even if CO2 emissions are not causing global warming there are good reasons to save the oil. When the oil runs out then the way we live our lives is going to have to change a lot. For some it will be a big shock so its best to get people used to not being able to drive big cars.

You think bio fuels are the answer? Well one tank of gas uses enough food to feed somebody for a year. Your farms are going to be turned over to fuel production. So food prices must rise and the world will be able to support less people.

Something to think about,...

If you removed every insect from the earth, then all life would eventually wither and die.

If you removed every human, the diversity of life around the globe would flourish.

We need to be better stewards of the land.

Make a smaller footprint in any way you can.

Open a window instead of using air conditioning.

Walk when you can instead of driving.

Turn off your computer when you are not using it.

Turn off your lights.

Turn off the tap.

Don't water the lawn.

Only run the laundry when you have a full load.

Hang things to dry if you can.

Turn down the heat when you go to work or school.

Hang up your towel and re-use it before washing it.

In winter, don't drain the bathtub until the water is cold - it can be used to heat your house a little.

Go paperless - submit assignments and memos digitally.

Use a cloth instead of paper towel.

Use a re-usable bag for groceries.

Buy food in packaging that can be recycled or composted.

Buy locally made goods before considering things that are shipped in (only buy them if you can't get them locally).

Stop buying junky stuff for kids - how many stuffed animals do they really need?

Put a brick in the back of the toilet to save water on every flush.

Get a water saver shower head.

Don't use pesticides or herbicides.

Unplug the microwave when you are not using it (and anything with a digital display).  These are like energy vampires continuously drawing energy.

Use a broom and mop instead of one of those disposable ones.

Don't buy things that are overpackaged.

Turn off the TV when you leave the room.

If you have property, compost non-meat/non-bread food instead of throwing it out.

honestly the increase in the earth's temperature is probably due to a natural cycle of the earth.  Just think thousands of years ago in the ice age there where glaciers covering the earth all the way to the equator the ice age melted long before modern technology this here shows that the earth is in a natural warming phase and that modern technology is not the cause of the warming.  Scintis have also stated there have been multiple ice ages which means the earth is constantly cooling and warming naturally.   The theory that some scientist came up with is a complete theory.  Remember at one point the theory was the earth was flat and the majority of the earths population beleived this

This doesn't mean you can't conserve energy or help to stop pollution.  some of the ways to conserve are self explanatory such as driving gas efficient vehicles, turning off unused lights and electrical products and so forth

I don't have a specific answer or like...a 50 year plan or anything but...i think it has to be a collective effort, we need to pull our heads out of are arses and stop denying that it *IS* happening...

We should:

~ find alternative fuel sources

~recycle more

~set up more programs that arent run by either (in america at least) democrats or republicans, ie: cross party organizations that raise awareness and really crack down on this big corporations poisoning OUR environment.

Dont be a hipocrit like the eco pimps Algore and his buddies, walk to the local store instead of jumping into your car and you will benefit from the cardio exersice and put fewer dollars into the middle east. dont get a bag at the store if you only have one or two items. plant fruit trees in your yard, home grown fruit is awesome. plant a vegtable garden, these things are carbon scrubbers, turn off the TV and go spend time with family and friends or learn to play a musical instrament or what ever turns you  on.  keep your car tuned up dont let it get run down

if enough people do these things the price of gas will drop and then I can afford to drive my crown victoria so every litte bit you do helps me, Thanks in advance
