  1. There is not set speed limit on icy roads. You just have to be very slow and allow plenty of distance between you and the car in front of you.

  2. getting on and off the ice, you need too go real slow.. but once on the ice you can't go any faster than 15 mph... as not to create too large a wave under the ice which break the ice ahead of you.

  3. No, If your talking abouit the show this year its a lot higher its about 50 because the road is alot wider so it able to go faster.

Last year's ice road was about 20.

  4. hi. the speed limit on the ice road is not fixed it is decided on the basis of thickness of ice layer n also on the weight the car carrying .Mostly the limit is 10 to 25 mph ,last year it is 20 mph.but it is not fixed and it depends on  strength of ice road of this year

  5. You are to drive no faster then is safe!

You are to drive is such a manner that you can maintain control of the car at all times.

So if you are driving on an ice covered road and hit anything, or leave the designated lane for your traffic, you were going to fast.

  6. icy or snowy roads you always try to keep your speed steady. and there isnt any laws saying that you have to go slower when its snowing or there is ice on the roads,, thats up to you!  i live in WV so u know the roads here are very whinny and lots of hills,, i've kept a steady speed on them and NEVER slam on your brakes!! that will be very dangerous to u and whom ever else is in your car!

    good luck

  7. As fast a conditions permit up to posted speed limit. most times in bad conditions with chains or traction aid devices 10-20mph. but as always be safe, and not beyond your skill or posted limit.

  8. If you mean the ice roads that are frozen in every winter to transport supplies and equipment in the Arctic - 35 kilometers (22 miles) per hour. There is not an issue with traction or losing control so much as the need to avoid harmonic vibration from the trucks. The ice is thick, but with thousands of tons a day in truck traffic, the slower speed helps maintain the integrity of the ice. Under the ice is still lake or ocean, so there is a need to prevent waves from forming and causing a depression of the roads.

  9. 14 mph.........
