  1. 20mph or 23 knots

  2. 60 minutes in an hour. 30 minutes is 1/2  10 X 2 = 20

  3. well to figure out the MPH you would have to see how many times the half an hour would go into an hour. this obviously twice. then you would times the 10 miles in the half hour by two and get 20. in one hour it will travel 20 miles so the answer is 20mph

  4. 17.39 knots

  5. 20 miles per hour

  6. That depends on the motion of the water it's traveling in.  If you can travel 10 miles in 30 minutes against a current of 5 mph; then you are traveling 25 mph through the water.  But the current set you back 2.5 miles.

Similarly if you travel 10 mile in 30 minutes, 'with' a current of 5 mph, meaning it's aiding you, you are only traveling 15 mph through the water.  7.5 miles on your own and 2.5 miles given by the water flow.

This is considering in-line current flow.  In reality you would also have to compute angle offset.  If you find yourself steering 'above' the point you are trying to get to it's because the current or even wind is pushing side ways, so you travel further to reach the objective. You might travel 12 miles to reach the 10 mile objective.  It can be plotted or solved with simple trig functions.

Hope this clears it up for you.
