  1. .0025

  2. 500 kmph

DEPENDS on what kind of BULLET!

  3. Depends on the bullet and the rifle. A typical speed is around 750 m/s, which is a bit more than Mach 2.

Some bullets travel at 300 m/s, tank canons fire kinetic energy penetrators at 1800 m/s (Mach 5.8) and special research cannons can reach velocities of 5000 m/s.

  4. Some bullets exceed 1100 Meters /Sec.

    Most are slower.

  5. Faster than you can run so don't let that be your first line of defense should somebody shoot at you.

  6. Firearms come in different types and therefore carry different ammunition. In each firearm class there are different levels of power in the cartridge (bullet, shell etc). So as overly stated, the speed of a bullet depends on the powder charge in the casing of the bullet. The speed of sound is 1100 feet per second or about 750 mph, and most of the sound heard when a pistol or rifle goes off is the bullet breaking the sound barrier. Muzzle velocity is the speed at which the bullet leaves the barrel. It goes slower as it travels due to air friction.

So....the muzzle velocity or speed of bullet as it leaves the barrel is in excess of speed of sound, depends on powder charge (type of bullet) and starts to slow down due to friction.

You will never hear the rifle that fires a bullet that hits you till after it hits you.

  7. Upon leaving a gun barrel a bullet can sometimes reach the speed of sound... however this is not the same for all guns.

    this would depend on:

    Explosive charge

    How aerodynamic the bullet is

    the mass of the bullet

    the structure of the bullet

    friction of the gun barrel

Different bullets are built for different uses. For example, a pistol would not need a large range as it becomes inaccurate after only a short distance, as a result it has a relatively slow speed compared to other bullets.

A rifle on the other hand is used for long range and so the bullets are designed for travelling faster and further.

Note, often bullets can be made to fit multiple gun types, however this is not optimal.

  8. How fast a bullet travels, duh!

Some of are subsonic others supersonic!

  9. Very fast

  10. speed = distance / time

depends on the distance the bullet travelled and

    the time it travelled

  11. 45.465136846156 millimeters per milliseconds

  12. Dear frnd.,

the speed of the bullet varies with the kind of gun u use...

the general bullet speed is approx said as

                    500ft/sec.. (short gun)

it varies with the range and type of gun used

  13. 0.06 for covering 100m
