What is the squash/gourd in Germany at Aldi that is orange colored-not pumpkin though?

I keep seeing these, and have no idea what they are-I would like to buy one and try it, but first need the name and a recipe.

I think you must be talking about a Hokkaido Kürbis.  It is a kind of squash, I believe.  If you look for  "Kürbisrezepte" on Google.de or Yahoo.de, you are sure to find lots of recipies.  In German, of course.
