don't know about stable food because I don't know what they feed their horses but

France - staple food must be bread with a touch of arrogance,

Middle East - staple food is rice or cuscus

The French are famous for their Cheeses and Wines good produce, fine Seafood, Breads and Pastries.

In the Middle East I do believe their main staple is Cous Cous,  Lots of spice laden vegetables,Goat meat, and fish, lots of fish.
