What is the standard reimbursment for mileage?

My company pays 39 cents a mile. Is that below, about, or above average?

  1. every company is different.  Mine only pays 38 cents a mile (and if you mileage is less than you normally would travel to work then they reimburse nothing)


  2. I don't know the answer but i would think it depended on what part of the country you are in and the company you work for. Gas is cheaper in the south than the west coast.

  3. The company rate here just went to 43 cents/mile last month.

  4. A lot of companies have standardized on the IRS standard rate. It's 50.5 cents per mile for 2008 -- up from 48.5 cents in 2007.  I think you have a good argument for this, but you never know....
