What is the standard size of a volleyball net?

I have a volleyball court (sort of) on my property. The polls seem too far from each other to hold a standard net. What is the length between polls in a standard volleyball court?

No practices take place here, it's just for fun, but I can't seem to find a net that fits properly.

  1. The standard net is 32 to 33 feet long or about 11 meters.  The court is 30 feet or 9 meters across, so some net hangs out beyond the sidelines.  There is usually about 2 feet of cable outside the net.  That makes the usual distance about 36 feet between the poles.

  2. as gordon said, the distance between the poles are about 36 feet. the nets we use at school have really long ropes that go across the top, so we always tie knots in it. what you can do is if it wire, there is a special connector for cable to cable, or you can buy a longer cable and weld them together if you have the tools. if it is rope, you can buy another rope of similar kind and tie them together.

  3. You might be able to find extension cable that can help pull the net to the gear on the pole.

A tow strap from hardware store (normally cheaper than those cables from sporting goods) would also work, if you can work it out, for entertainment.
