  1. between 30,000 and 50,000

  2. depends a lot where you're at.  each state is very different.

example:  if first poster is correct (for their local area)  i'm impressed.  around here you would start less than 25k.

  3. It depends on where you want to teach.  Each area and each state is different.  It depends on that cities averaged estimated living expenses and what their minimum wage is.  It also depends on what kind of school you choose to teach in.  Is it big or small?  Is it public or private?  Are the families in that community wealthy or not?  There is a lot to consider.  Is there health care included and if so is that an additional price?  You'll need to be more specific.

  4. Be prepared to be screwed. In Colorado a teacher with a ton of experience at the top of her game who is willing to work in a chain school *might* make between twelve and fifteen dollars an hour. It's not a high paying job at all.

  5. CDA here start at 6.75 an hour, 2 yr degrees $8.45 an hour. 4yr degree 10.25 hour. all with benefits and vacation;federally-funded preschool in Ohio. Day care centers start at 6.25-$9.00 an hour for a degree'd teacher, little to no benefits or job security. Fast food joints pay more here!
