What is the starting rate for a cashier?

I think the minimum wage is $7.00/hour.  If that's the case they probably will not start you much higher than minimum wage.  I'm not sure because I live in North Carolina.  The minimum wage here is $6.15/hour.  I've attached the link to the site where I found the minimum wage amount.
