What is the starting salary for a special education teacher?

I was just wondering what is the starting salary for a special education teacher with a masters in special ed? I have no experience I am just finishing school. I was also wondering if anyone knew which districts pay starting teachers the most, as well as which districts pay scale increases the fastest? I see that Arizona is hiring alot of teachers but do they pay well? Is cost of living high over there? Your answers and knowledge will be greatly appreciated.

The median highest pay for teachers is in the following states are:

Arizona ranks 40th in the nation in teacher pay, which is not good.

Oregon ranks 14th in the nation

California ranks 2nd.

Nevada ranks 25th

Washington ranks 15th

New Jersey ranks 3rd.

Colorado 22nd

Alaska 11th

Connecticut has the highest average teacher pay.

Generally speaking, the Northeast school districts pay the most. The West coast is next. The south is poor as well as most of the mid west.

Special ed teachers frequently get an extra stipend, which amounts to around $600 to $1000.

I live in AZ. Cost of living is not higher due to low property taxes. Substitute teachers get $60 per day--one of the lowest in the nation. Starting salaries is available online. You need state licensure in any state you decide to teach. Apply across the country and go where ever the job takes you. You will learn a lot from the relocating experience.

I am a special education teacher in the south suburbs of chicago.  I don't have my masters but where I teach the starting salary with master is about 46,000.  Starting salary with just a bacholers is 38,500.

My starting is 42,750 w/o masters.  It will go up to 44,880 when  I will have completed 45 units beyond my BA towards credential.  Are you in a credential program?  Because you need to be in order to be considered hireable at least here in California where cost of living is very high.
