  1. I so definitely do not fit the stereotypical description of an otaku...

-one who attempts to cosplay more than 5 of their favorite characters

-enjoys eating hot kimichi with soy sauce over rice

    -obcessed with miyazaki films

    -wears digimon goggles, naruto headbands

-owns over 50 posters of their favorite anime shows

-has an enormous library collection of endless manga

-constantly talks about anime/manga at school with other otakus

-they go on crunchyroll or veoh to watch missed episodes

-they get so PISSED OFF when they miss an episode of whatever

  2. A YouTube blogger called "applemilk1988".

    Enjoy!!

  3. Agree with most of the things Evil Villain stated above. Another one I might add is calling themselves as Otaku. Anime and manga has taking over the space in their room! Eih, wait, I mean, those stuff only taking up the space in their hard disk drive, not their room. Sorry...

They also has a lot of action figure and cosplay costume! Well, I guess a google picture counts?

  4. Stereotypical anime fans only watch the shows on Cartoon Network/Adult swim.

I'm definitely not. Most mainstream stuff does not appeal to me.

  5. Your stereotypical anime fan -

Usually fat. Has glasses. Tries to incorporate Japanese words and phrases into everyday English. Thinks he/she's witty. Wears Naruto headbands. Likes to cosplay. Greasy. Watches bad Cartoon Network and Adult Swim anime. Likes to "glomp." Overuses annoying emoticons like :3 and xD. Flames Inu-Yasha haters. Spams message boards with his/her "intellectual" ramblings. Uploads awful fan art to DeviantArt. Thinks he/she's Japanese. Will never get laid.

  6. Someone who is awesome and likes to read XD

I guess basically a nerd or geek.

  7. When I think about anime fans, I split them in different categories.  I'm not gonna lie, when someone asks a stupid question, I automatically think they're a stupid fan.

    1. The fan that watches only what's on Adult Swim

    2. The Narutards that think Naruto is the best anime ever

    3. The fan that only watches dubs, or the opposite (only watches subs)

    4. Basically what Evil Villain said

    5. The REALLY ANNOYING fangirls that use the k word all the time (this guy's question is basically pretty much exactly my thoughts: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;... & http://myanimelist.net/clubs.php?cid=266... )

    6. The really hardcore fans that spend their whole day watching anime, nothing else

    7. The elite fans

That's pretty much it.  Then I can further separate them into 3 levels, 1 being #1-5, 2 being the casual watcher, 3 pretty much being 6 and 7.

imo, I fit in level 2.

    Edit:

I never said that.  If you fit in one of these, you fit in one of these and that's it.  If you're #5 then maybe yes I would be annoyed by you but I don't think you are?

    What made you think that?

Oh and I know you said _the_ but this is the way I think about it.

    /edit

    Edit 2:

Yeah but I didn't say _you_, just stupid questions in general.  I'm sure I can find lots of them, but I really don't want go through the time and effort.

Oh and #3 was supposed to be pretty much this, this version was incomplete (forgot to add another part):

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

The ones that annoy me most are probably those people that are like "I watch so much anime, I know Japanese now!  I want to go move there because I just LOVE ANIME SO MUCH!  I WISH I WAS JAPANESE SO I COULD WATCH ANIME EVERYDAY!!!"  I think it's fine if you're curious/be interested, but not just because... well I think you get what I mean.

  8. i've noticed alot of anime fans on here only watch mainstream anime. they get completly obsessed over a fictional character and say they are in "love" with them

there's nothing wrong with being a fan of anime but there's a problem if it's your entire life

  9. To me, a stereo typical anime fan reads manga books, talks about manga books, watches anime nonstop, visits anime web pages, asks questions here on y/a about anime, or at least their life evolves around anime and manga.

  10. Okay~ My opinion:

    1) Is a Japanese-wannabe (even create a Japanese name for themselves...there's loads of Japanese wannabes in my country...and I'm not one of them. I'm proud of my country =)

    2) Tries to speak Japanese in real life with other ppl

    3) Tries to do like, Naruto jutsus

    4) Watch anime 24/7

    5) Buys anime dolls... don't know what you call em =_=

Duhhh~ Some of the stereotypical Anime fan person that had been listed by other users hit me xO

    =_=""

    That's me that they listed...

Well, at least I'm not a Japanese wannabe... I'm proud of my backgroud! xDDD

    Edit:

    Who says you're stupid?

    Anime fans rocks~

And agree, if anime's a religion, then I would be in Heaven too...lol

  11. No, I don't think I'm a stereotypical anime fan. People would be too scared to say that to my face because I look stoic and serious to them.

    1. Glasses

    2. Having a manga in their hands 24/7

    3. Eating a snack

    4.Wearing a backpack

    5. Looking huge

    6. Having a video game device

    7. Very intelligent

    8. Having more manga, games, movies, and merchandise than a store

    9. Their rooms look like an Otaku shop

    10. Know a lot of facts, depending on the anime that they've watched

  12. Excessive anime watching leads to extreme cases of the fan girl which is me

Symptoms include but are not limited to

extreme urges to glomp everyone in sight

    mewing randomly

labeling things as "kawaii" or "baka"

cosplaying, roleplaying, purchasing tons of manga

buying all anime and items with anime on them

drawing anime or fanart, drawing everyone as chibi

    listening music jpop

believing you were born as japanese cat girl

falling in love with anime characters

    adding chan to names

and extremely hurting people who bash anime.

everything you say is 80% of anime reference xD

    I LOVE ANIME

if anime were to be a religion I'd be in heaven =]
