What is the story about retired Webkinz?

I hear they are rare. I hear they aren't sold anymore. I hear they are seasonal. In Michigan, they sell retired ones for 12 bucks!

Basically GANZ no longer makes them ... So you can only get them as long as the stores you shop at have them .. once they are sold out there the store will no longer be able to re-order that certain Webkinz. Many of the recently retired Webkinz you can still find in stores but the ones that were retired over a year ago you can normally only find on eBay .. Seasonal Webkinz have not all been retired only a choice few . Hope that helps !

Here is the story, Webkinz staff retires Webkinz, because they need more room to make other Webkinz.  You can get retired ones on eBay, and in other states including New Jersey.  Others that are seasonal have a different story.  Say the reindeer.... you can get it during Christmas, but the first day of Janurary, they stop selling them.  Then the next year, they come out again in that season!  Some retirees are: Webkinz Seal, Webkinz Raccoon, and the Webkinz Yellow Lab.  Some seasonal Webkinz are the Webkinz Duck (mine is sitting right next to me), the Black Cat, the Reindeer, and the Love Frog and Puppy.  I hope I can answer your future questions!  Thanks!

Retired webkinz means they are no longer available in stores. But if someone hold on to them they could sell it to you, but probably for a little bit more than the first price. You can definatly find retired webkinz on ebay.
