What is the strange "hiccup" noise dogs make after eating or drinking?

I have a boston terrier. Sometimes after he eats or drinks his water, he makes a strange hiccup sound like he has some kind of stomach reflux problem. His stomach moves in and out while he is doing it. It sounds a lot like back to back hiccups. His stomach is really sensitive and if I give him anything out of his diet, 9 times out of 10, he will regurgitate it later. Other than this issue, he is happy, and always playing. I know he needs to see the vet, but I just wanted to know if anyone has any idea what is going on before I get there.

Thanks!

  1. It's a hiccup. If they can f**t and burp, they can hiccup !!!!!

  2. My dalmatian does the same thing but he always does it before he goes to bed, which he always drinks water before too. His hiccups are like 10-15 in a row then he quits. I was worried about him doing this also but then I realized thats what it was.

  3. It probably is a hiccup.  A hiccup is a spasm in the diaphram so maybe he's getting that.  Mine makes a hacking sound that makes you think he's gonna toss his cookies.

  4. My dog does that too, I'm pretty sure he is just having hiccups
