What is the strap on her joddies?

(this is not me) i found this pic in one of the questions and i was wondering wat is the brown strap on her joddies around her knee.

They are for shows. We call them garter straps in our area. They go around just under the knee and are for grip as well as a style thing when you show. Little kids that aren't old enough for tall boots wear them.

its a keeper it keeps the jodphurs fo rideing up on the rider!  younger childern can wear them in shows as apposed to tall boots.

they are called a garter, and they're for riders with short or jodhpur boots. they stop their joddies from riding up past the ankle.

That is a garter strap to help make sure the the jodhpurs do not ride up while riding.

its a garter. it stops the jods from riding up. If you are under 12 you may ride in them at a horse show (even rated ones) It is correct if you dont have propper tall boots.
