  1. The NL East and the AL Central are both very interesting and entertaining, but...

The AL East is the strongest.....and...

The NL West is the weakest

  2. Strongest is NL Central and weakest is NL West

  3. I would have to place the American League East as the strongest and The National League West as the weakest.  And here's why:

The AL East is home to two of baseballs most dangerous/talent filled teams. The Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankee's.  And now the Tampa Bay Ray's are having a breakout of young talent and excellent pitching along with the best record in the American League.  So that gives three SOLID teams of the 5 total teams in the league.  (No disrespect to the Blue Jay's or the Orioles fans out there)

As for the NL West that is a no-brainer.  With only one team over the .500 mark and more injuries and sub-par performances than you can shake a stick at... (And that's just Barry Zito)  The NL West leading Arizona Diamondbacks (as of 29Aug08) would be 3 games behind 3nd place in the NL WILDCARD RACE if it weren't for the fact that they are GIVEN a play-off spot just for winning their pathetic division.

  4. Strongest- AL East.  4 of 5 teans are above.500

Weakest- NL West   1 team above .500

  5. Strongest division, I would say is a toss-up between the AL-Central & the AL-East.

    AL-Central:

White Sox are strong. Carlos Quentin, Thome, Swisher, Crede, Griffey etc.

Twins are a great fundamental team that finds a way every year with a low pay-roll. They got a great CF in the Santana deal in Gomez just needs to work on his BA and K's.

Cleveland had a rough start but have put together some win streaks as of late. Good pitching, offensive studs.

Kansas City, I think we will be good in the future.Gathwright, Butler, Aviles, Gordon, Teahen.

Detroit has the talent if they could only put it together. They have some real studs.

    AL East

NY Yankees - Enough said, they will always be a contender and a string team. This year will be a bump in the road.

Boston Red Sox - 2 WS in last 4 years.

Tampa Bay Rays have proven to be strong all year. Great pitching, good manager and they have some young studs doing a great job.

Toronto Blue Jays have a great 1-2 punch in the starting rotation  (Halladay & Burnett) other good young starters (Litsch, McGowan etc) If they could get their closer healthy that would help. Their offense can be anemic but they arent bad.

Baltimore Orioles have some good young talent as well, good young starters.

The weakest I would say is either the NL West or East. I am a mets fan so I am going to give the East a pass and say the sub .500 division winning west is the weakest, the division winner is consistently sub .500 or 2-4 games over. Not so good!

  6. The strongest is the AL East. Yanks, Rays, Red Sox, and Jays are all over .500, and the O's are like 65-70 or something...

The weakest is by far the NL West, because only two teams are contending, and only one of them has a winning percentage (Arizona)

  7. NL Central Strongest

    NL West Weakest

    NL East interesting

  8. AL Central is the strongest.

    NL West is the weakest.

  9. Strongest is the AL East. The Yankees and Red Sox are perennial contenders and at least one of them has made the playoffs every year since the wild-card was instituted. Now the Rays have also become one of the top ML teams. This means that the Orioles and Blue Jays have no chance, even they usually have decent records.

Weakest: NL West. Not a lot to explain here. All of the teams are just absolute c**p.

  10. This year...

    NL Central is strongest

    NL West is Weakest
