The study of living contemporary cultures is called cultural anthropology, which is one of the four subsets of anthropology. The other three subsets are archaeology (the study of dead or past cultures), linguistics, and biological anthropology. Biological anthropologists have proven that there is no such thing as race. Sociology, Cultural Anthropology, History, Economics, Political Science, International Studies, Classics, Geography, Music, the Arts, wow the list could go on.  Cultural Anthropologists might have the best claim on the subject-- but that is arguable among all of the above and more.

The study of Race?  I'm going to cede that to the Eugenicists, with apologies to my physical anthropologist friends.

Because the concept of "race" is racelly flawed. As one person said it's a pigment of the imagination.

The study of culture is the more accurate.
