What is the stuff called that you can layer on the side of your garage?

I don't know what it's called but it comes in a big bucket and it's pastey and it comes in different shades of white/gray. You don't have to mix it with water. It's not cement that you put on the floor but this is for the sides of the garage. Or maybe it is called cement? Can cement go on a wall, how would it dry, wouldn't it drip down? Can someone help? (I am helping someone buy it because they don't speak English....)
