What is the substance in black tea that keeps us awake after drinking it?

does black tea have caffein (spell?) that could cause that?

and also, is black tea addictive?

  1. Black tea has about 50mg of caffine per cup (about half as much as coffee). If you're looking for something less caffinated you could try green tea (about 30mg of caffine), white tea (about 20mg), decaffinated (about 4mg), or herbal tea (0mg).


  2. im not sure if there are other compounds but theres caffeine for sure. Oh and btw they don't add more caffeine to it.... it like comes from the plant. And its not as addictive since there s less than coffee.
