  1. it has a bad name and it does not look a very nice place to live in

  2. Homeswest tried to hide the place when they changed the name of Lockridge to KIARA.

Homeswest went thru a phase of bulldozing and renaming bad suburbs like Maniana and Lockridge, but now-a-days they just do up the flats and houses and sell them off privately and just call it the 'new north' or something just as lame.

But back to Lockridge or now known as Kiara:

They have knocked down a lot of the old homeswest townhouses in Kiara, and apparently moved a lot of the people in state housing out, but it's supposed to be worse now with low socio economic private dwellers rather than the pensioners that were there before.

I believe that they figured that if they left a tiny part of the area as "Lockridge" then people will be fooled into thinking that Kiara is somewhere else.

  3. its one of the rougher suburbs of perth, i know it very well as i lived not too far from there,., you wouldn't want to live there.

  4. Still really crappy apparently.

I know a cop that works this district and he recently referred to it as 'the @rsehole of Perth' or something like that anyway. Lol.

  5. Its unlikely to get better with time.
