  1. - Werribee is approx 35km west of Melbourne city.

    - There's a direct freeway that you can drive on (approx 35-40 minutes from Melbourne city)

    - You can also catch a train (30 minutes journey time)

    - the suburb itself is industrial, although it's equiped with supermarket for your groceries, couple strips of take away restaurants and some highschools (the schools for the surrounding areas are all based in Werribee).

    - Werribee also produces majority of Victoria state's green vegetables (there're lots of vegetables growers) so if you live in the area, you're able to get fresh vegetables :).

    -  The average cost for a 3 bedroom house around this area is AU$340000.

If that fits the lifestyle you're after, then yeah...you should buy a house there.

  2. Werribee is the slightly older part of the area.

Hoppers Crossing, Wyndhamvale and Tarneit are also parts of the same Council area ( City of Wyndham).

Wyndham is one of the states fastest growth corridors there are shopping centers strip shopping cinema's etc.

We are about 1/2 hour from Melbourne CBD out of rush hour and the end of a metropolitan train line which is 50 min from Melbourne.

Housing varies depending on whether you build in newer areas or purchase an existing house  also some areas are more costly for the same type of house than others.

There are quite a few schools to choose from both public & private for the kids if you have any.

Some people put the area down because we have a waste treatment plant but the gases were long ago closed in & are used to power the plant.

It is a very multi cultural area with peoples of many  nations.

We have our issues but I don't know of an area that anywhere that is perfect.

  3. Get a house in Melbourne while you still can, I reckon. Werribee is foreign and scary to those in the east and non-locals but the reality is very different. There are train stations, major aterial freeways, schools and shops so you can't really go wrong. It is very 'suburbia' but not all of us can afford a house in the inner suburbs, right?
