Hint: The sume of the first 5 even numbers is 2+4+6+8+10=30 and 5x6=30. The sum of the first 10 even numbers is 110...

  1. alot, lol. I'm going to try it. (: 11856. Butt, if you are talking about like...2+4+6+8 plus 100 more numbers, h**l no I'm not doing that. lol Thought you meant the even numbers till 100.


  2. first number is 2, last number is 200

    their sum is 202

    like wise sum of 2 number and 99th number is 202

    you have 50 of these sets so

    50 times 202 = 10,100 which is the sum of the first 100 even numbers

    try it with less than 100 numbers ie 4 or 6

    2 4 6 8       2 sets of 10 or 20

    2 4 6 8 10 12     3 sets of 14 or 42

You could add each of them up individually- 2+4+6+8+10+12+14+16+18 etc.  Or you could use simple logic to determine that 2 is the first number, 200 is the last number to be added.  Then add 200+2 (202), multiply by 50 (the number of these sets) and you get 10100.  (This works because each otehr set will always equal 202- 4+198, 6+196, etc)

  5. Sum = (first number + last number) / 2 * (number of numbers)

    = (2 + 200) / 2 * 100

    = 101 * 100

    = 10100
