  1. You can find everything you ever wanted to know about that drug, and other medicines, at http://www.rxlist.com   But first you have to spell the name right to find it.


  2. Tranexamic acid.  It helps prevent bleeding.  It's often used during bloody surgeries to stop patients from bleeding out too much.

    Edit:  And Helen's right about its use in preventing menstrual bleeding.

  3. Neither, it's used to reduce menstrual blood flow (ie. for women with heavy, painful periods). It works!

    Edit: I'd better be right darl, I use it! (in conjunction with Ponstan) - although it doesn't prevent bleeding, if only.

    There are side-effects but it's better than the alternative. It's no fun being a girl sometimes, I tells yer.

    Edit 2: "Doctor", the name is spelt absolutely correctly. That's what it says on my prescription anyway.
