What is the tampa incident?

not long ago there was a boat load of refugees in the waters to the north of australia and a passing norwegian container ship(the tampa) picked them up and then proceded into australian waters so as to off load them onto australian territory.so the australian government sent an inflatible boatload of sas special forces to board and take control of the norwegian ship so as to prevent the refugees being illegally dumped on australia.they ended up going to an australian sponsered refugee facility on the  island nation of nauru untill their claims of being refugees could be investigated.some eventually were allowed into australia but most were sent to other countries.you see the problem with these so called refugees is that they all threw away their identification sa as to make it just about impossible for the australian authorities from knowing whether they we're genuine refugees from trouble spots or we're merely economic opportunists.
