What is the tape looking stuff that some of the beach volleyballers are wearing. it looks like a tattoo but it

Because of surgeries, they are a healing patch to help ease the pain I guess.

It could be a tattoo covering to protect the public from seeing the silly tattoos the competitors have gotten and keep the sponsors happy and possibly get them a lucrative contract after the olympics.

She just had shoulder surgury and it is supposed to help with strength of her shoulder.

I cannot remember the name of the tape like stuff but it was mentioned on NBC during her game against Cuba today.

I was wondering the exact same thing when I was watching it. They said it was some sort of protective tape. idk why she was only wearing it on 1 shoulder though.

It's for a medical reason. She has had many surgeries on her shoulder.

Tape...wow, i've been searching all morning to find out what it was. I missed them saying and it was so perfect on their bodies that i thought it was horrible tattoos.

I assume you are talking about Kerri Walsh, 2008 Olympic Beach Volleyball player.  She plays for the U.S.A. and is the offensive player at 6'2" and a quarter inches.  Anyway, to get to the point, Kerri hurt her shoulder, had surgery, and wears the black tape.  It's there for protection and it also works like an aspirin in the sense that it takes some pain away.  I had the same question too, but the announcers explained it during the game of U.S.A vs. Japan.  Great Question!
