  1. Its not so much about the technique but more about constant practise, you may find that you have days where you can spin, and day where you can't that just means your getting closer to being a consistant spinner! If you want to go from stand still, start with your toe-pick of you non spinnign foot in the ice, and have your arms out, push off from this position. In doing so keep off you toe-pick, lift up your hip (of non-spinnign foot) bring you arms in and keep your free foot high. If you want to do it from backward cross-overs, do a couple of crosses then push off on your spinnign leg, leave your free leg out for 1 or 2 rotations then pull in, the same for your arms

    hope this helps x

  2. well i am a figure skater myself and i can say that when i started out doing my 1 foot spin i went into a 2 foot spin first then waited till i did 3 rotations and then gradually lifted my foot up. dont rush in lifting ur foot otherwise u will become off balance. and stay on the ball of ur foot. hope this helps and i would like 2 talk 2 u more if u could.

  3. when i do a one foot spin i start with a two foot spin and then gradually bring my outside foot up. i recommend tucking your arms in it wil give you more speed. hope this helps. Good luck!
