What is the temperature in Rome and Florence like in end December?

I'm going to Rome and Florence in the second half of December. Coming from the tropics, I am not sure what is the temperature like and how should I dress for it. Any suggestions? I've got a suede, faux fur lined winter coat, some knitted sweaters. Will that be enough?

the temperature is so cold...during the night 2°c or 3°c...

during the day 15°c or 16°... but it depends by the situations... last winter was so cold!! nice travel!

The temps in Rome in Dec/Jan usually are around 40 degrees.  Winter coat, sweat shirts and sweaters would be fine for that time.
