I might be in Marseilles in southern France next January. I have heard that southern France is hot and beautiful in the summer, but is damp and can be really cold in winter, even with a little snow.

  1. this year (i don't know if it's because of global warming...) the winter is hot in Marseilles. I live in Marseilles and today, it was about 18°C and the weather was absolutely fine with a lot of sun and a very blue sky !!! it is so great to be here in winter.

  2. 2000 C

  3. The PACA region of France (Provence Alpes Côte Azur) is temperate, mild in the winter, but you'll still need a coat.

  4. aujourd'h*i, samedi 17 février 2007, il fait 18°C à marseilles.

  5. In winter, Marseilles's temperature are pleasant, with average of 12°C (54°F).

The "Mistral," a cold  wind coming from the  Alps that blows South down the Rhône Valley that sometimes blows for weeks can make any particlar day  colder and wetter at any time of the year.

  6. This winter in the south East of France (Cannes, Nice, Monaco) is not cold at all, and the average during the day is around 12-15 degrees celsius. During the night it is around 0-3 degrees.

Now, last year during the night it was -8degrees up to 06-10 degrees during the day.

I consider this winter as very mild.

  7. South East of France is usually mild in the winter indeed but never hot.

The warmest area is Nice - Cannes. Marseilles can be cold, especially at night. But it's a nice time to visit, not overcrowded and often sunny.

  8. Usually 0 C to about 13, but wif global warming who knows??? B sure to bring a warm coat!
