Liquefied gas example: paintball markers use liquefied CO2 to regulate the pressure.

possibly interesting to some:

At a specific pressure (wikipedia says 1800psi) the gas turns to liquid. so as long as there is liquid CO2 the pressure stays constant. As the gas escapes, the liquid evaporates to maintain the pressure.

  1. That last part you mentioned would be the partial pressure of CO2 over the liquid. The liquid goes to gas to a lower area of pressure. The CO2 would be used up if the gas over it kept leaking. Pressure is maintained by the walls of the plastic ball.

    Your term would be critical pressure, or minimum pressure needed to liquefy a gas. Increasing the number of molecules per area
