What is the term for your g.grandfather's brother?

Is he refered to as a "great uncle" as I've heard, or something else?

Are'nt your grandparents siblings refered to as "great aunt/uncle?

  7. Most of the other answers are common mistakes.  There is really no such relation as a Great Aunt/Great Uncle.

    Aunts and Uncles are on the same line as parents.  

    So of course, the siblings of your parents would be your aunts/uncles.

    The siblings of your GRANDparents would be your GRAND Aunts/GRAND Uncles.  

    The siblings of your GREAT GRANDparents would be your GREAT GRAND aunts/GREAT GRAND uncles.
