What is the termination fee on a phone contract from 3?

I am in a 18 month contract with network 3. I am about half way into that but I am sick of their service and want to change. Does anyone know how much the termination fee is? Is it the sum of all the remaining months left? i.e. i owe them 9 months line rental? or something else?

Cancellation of Caps with a mobile instalment:

If your mobile is disconnected within 24 months the installment price of your mobile and minimum monthly spend per month for remaining months of contract is payable and you must pay all outstanding charges.

Caps Cap - Mobile installment 1 - 24 months

Cancellation in months 1 - 24 Cap - FREE Mobile $29 - $149

Cancellation in months 1 - 24

$29 Cap Mobile installation price + $20 minimum spend. $20 per month for remaining months of contract.

$49 Cap Mobile installation price + $30 minimum spend. $30 per month for remaining months of contract.

$69 Cap Mobile installation price + $50 minimum spend. $50 per month for remaining months of contract.

$99 Cap Mobile installation price + $70 minimum spend. $70 per month for remaining months of contract.

$129 Cap Mobile installation price + $100 minimum spend. $100 per month for remaining months of contract.

$149 Cap Mobile installation price + $120 minimum spend. $120 per month for remaining months of contract.

An early termination fee of $50 is also applicable on top of your cancellation costs.

Cap with a FREE mobile:

If you disconnect your service within 24 months, minimum monthly spend per month for remaining months of contract is payable.

Cancellation of Bonus Plus Plans:

If you disconnect your service within 24 months your plan’s minimum monthly spend for the remaining months of the contract is payable. This is capped at $55 per month for Bonus Plus 77 and 99 Plans.

Bonus Plus 22 N/A $22 per month for remaining months of contract.

Bonus Plus 33 N/A $33 per month for remaining months of contract.

Bonus Plus 44 N/A $44 per month for remaining months of contract.

Bonus Plus 55 N/A $55 per month for remaining months of contract.

Bonus Plus 77 N/A $55 per month for remaining months of contract.

Bonus Plus 99 N/A $55 per month for remaining months of contract.

This is effective for all new connections from the 6th of October 2006. If your account is not paid in full on or before the due date, a late payment fee of $4.95 (including GST) will apply each month until the overdue amount is paid. An early termination fee of $50 is also applicable on top of your cancellation costs.

I don't know about countries outside of the UK, but here your termination fee is indeed the sum of the remaining months.

Your best bet is to shop around in some phone stores - some may give you cash back deals to switch networks that will help you to pay off 3.  Go and have a chat with the sales staff in places like Phones4U, Carphone Warehouse etc.

Other than that, just stick with 3 until your contract is up then get the h**l outta there!  When you are ready to change I heartily recommend O2!

If you are from Uk (I am from London) the termination fee is the sum of the remaining paymenets left. For example: if you are on a 30.00 contract then you must pay 30.00 times the remaining months.

It'll be the remaining months monthly contract. If you're halfway through the contract, you'll have to pay the monthly fee times 9.
