  1. they are native people, they are hunter and gatherers!!!!

  2. OK this is complicated the Eskimo peoples are native to territory's from Siberia to Greenland and as such there is a lot of sub ethnicity, the Inupiat, Yupik (Alaska), Inuit, Inuvialuit (Canada), Kalaallit (Greenland) and Yupik (Russia), Inuit is used for the Inupiat of northern Alaska, the Inuit of Canada, and the Kalaallit of Greenland. the Yupik of Siberia and Alaska are linguistically and ethnically distinct from the other populations and are properly called Eskimo (Yupik is probably a much better term as Eskimo was originally an insult used by a rival group it means eaters of raw meat Inuit means people or the people)

they were hunter fishers (little if any edible plants) invented the qajait we call it kayak tiny seal skin covered boats. dogsleds were used overland or in winter when the ocean ice gets think enough that it may as well be land.

tools tended to be made of bone and hides wood not really being available and stone a poorer material to work with (soapstone carvings as art a notable exception and walrus ivory was greatly prized for knives)

the igloo made of cut blocks of packed snow and ice (the gaps between blocks were packed with snow) was used as a winter dwelling as they melt in the not freezing summer during which time they switch to tents.

this is by necessity very brief and full of errors the wikipedia page is a good staring point but a proper ethnography would probably be best also i tried to use the past tense throughout to refer specifically to traditional culture rather then the modern one that combines a lot of new and old ways.

  3. Coordinating and making House from ice together

  4. Inuit.  For info go to ask.com and put in inuit.

  5. The Aleuts, Inuits, et al (Eskimo), were the last peoples to arrive in North Amereica before the end of the ice age, c.10,000 yrs ago.  Several groups migrated to Greenland and there are still groups living in Eastern Siberia.  Many of these peoples live well above the Arctic circle and some still maintain their taditional lives by living in igloos (those snow domed homes), wearing clothing made from seal, etc., and hunting for seal, walrus, and fishing.  (A very important tradition is the whale hunt.)  Many have given up the igloo for traditional housing.  In the past, the United States government has been very nasty to all Native Peoples in the U.S.; this is slowly changing.  (National Geographic has several articles on the Aleut Peoples.  There are also a lot of great web sites designed by the tribal councils.)
