  1. I think there is no thin line teasing is a way of telling someone something about themselves that you don't want to say straight to them.

If it is done well it may be informative but few people tease with pure love there is always a bit of blame in there.

It is also cowardly becasue if the teasee protests they are a poor sport so the teaser has it all their own way.

I don't take teasing. I say calmly "I dont do this!"  refuse to laugh and walk away. I will admit my faults openly so there is no need to tease me about them.

  2. Interchangeable. I am teasing/harrassing you. Use either word, means the same thing. Quite often done in an affectionate manner. But when you cross the line and go too far...   I've never heard of a "teasing" suit. It becomes harassment when you refuse to stop, or fail to see that the teasing has gone too far.  Beyond that there is unwanted attention, called stalking. Definitely not teasing.

  3. Teasing is a broad term that can refer to a mutually-fun, often flirtacious activity, or something that is one person bothering or even harassing another.

In other words, teasing can refer to some forms of harassment, or to "good teasing" -- the fun kind.

What distinguishes the fun kind from the not-fun kind is whether both participants are enjoying it. If so, it's fine; if not, it might be harassment, or possibly just one person being rude.

  4. teasing and harassment can become very much licked and can co-inside with each other.

Harassment is more purposely done to emotionally harm the victim. Whereas teasing can just be for fun

Teasing can become harassment when the person being teased suddenly feels uncomfortable with it, and wishes for it to stop.

  5. There's no external measure.

As soon as the person being teased feels the line has been crossed, well, it has.

  6. it is just knowing your limits and the type of person who you are doing it to

  7. no line. teasing sucks.

  8. In real life?

If the person does not feel attracted to the one teasing. Why? Because if they fell attracted they usually will not file charges.

  9. Teasing is something that can be done for fun or for malicious reasons.    Friends can make mildly disparaging remarks to  each other in a facetious way that amuses all parties involved.   On the other hand, children often tease each other in order to be mean.

Harassment is always malicious.   Harassment can include malicious teasing, but also encompasses many other things, including bullying, assault, vandalism, and abuse of authority.

The line you spoke of is between camaraderie and malice.   That line looks pretty thick to me.
