We are in corporate housing and our puppy has chewed it out so just wondering if we can buy it somewhere to replace it. Otherwise we will get charged an enormous amount by the housing company. Thanks

  1. I am not sure of the name, it is something like Cambric but not sure. I thing any fabric store or furniture fabric store carries it. It is similar to the stuff on the bottom of some chairs. Don't know if it comes is colors, I've only seen it in black.

  2. You could be referring the the "cane-brick" or dust cover material, which is very light cloth, or the backing, which is used as a soft but somewhat stiff layer. I am not sure what part of the mattress the dog damaged, but you may need both these materials and a staple gun to replace the damaged part of the mattress. I hope this works out. If you need help, it may be a good idea to check out an upholstery book from a library, or search the 'net for DIY of what you are looking for. Good luck!

  3. It's called "cambric"  Generally a non-woven fiber.  The problem might be finding it wide enough (unless you have "split box springs"), as what is used in upholstery comes 30-42 inches wide. Look under "Upholstery Supplies" in the yellow pages or better-supplied fabric stores.  It's usually really inexpensive -- I got a 100 yd roll last week for $29.

It's stapled on around the perimeter.  Start stapling in the middle of the 4 sides and work your way into the corners.

  4. You need to replace the boxspring.  Why do they allow dogs in housing for people on the dole?
