What is the thing that fire fighters use to break windows in a cars.?

Its this substance they they sprinkle on car windows whenever there is an accident, and the windows break- I want to know what its called, or what it is.

I know of nothing like this however they do use either a glass master or a glass punch, the glass master is more often used for windshields and the glass punch is used on the side glass...

I know that if you crush up the ceramic insulators from spark plugs, they will crack automotive window glass.

I've never heard of a substance that gets sprinkled on gas that makes it shatter.

In NYC, FDNY either uses an axe or a Halligan tool (part crowbar & part pike).

I have never heard of anything like that.  We use a spring loaded punch that spiders the glass.  And that is about all I have ever seen used.  Good luck.
