  1. Global Warming is created by chemicals we produce which go into the atmosphere. One there, they remain there and all the sun rays than enter earth from the sun..only some can escape back because the gases trap them inside, thus increasing the earth's temperature.

It is a threat at is is warming the earth, melting polar ice-caps which could flood and destroy natural habitat, and many other reasons.

  2. OK, I asked a question about global warming, and I got alot of negetive reponse, I just want to say this, if you believe in global warming, don't let an uneducated fool persaude you, but here are some things that are happening:

    -the greenhouse effect

    -ocean's rising

    -ice caps melting

    -polar bears dying

-and this isn't exactly from the global warming, but it doesn't help, the big hole in the atmosphere

    Hope I helped!

  3. The biggest threat to you personally is that you will made to feel bad for don't giving your hard earned money to someone that says they can stop it, which they can't.

  4. The "threat" of global warming is that people can go extinct!  Didn't you watch the "Day After Tomorrow?" <grin>

Seriously, the threat(s) as a result of global warming are numerous.

    On the positive side:

    1.  Since the earth is warmer, the growing season will be longer.  Farmers in some areas will be able to grow more food.  Also, some lands in northern areas will now be able to be used for farmland since it won't be covered by ice and snow most of the year.  There should be an overabundance of food in some areas with very low food prices.

    2.  An increase in the growth rate and number of plants and trees.  The lumber industry should prosper.  Faster and taller growing trees will reduce the price of lumber - and the price of homes.  Also, more plants/trees in some areas will reduce the amount of air pollution in those areas.

    3.  A decrease in "winter diseases" such as the flu and influenza.  People in temperate areas will actually be healthier.

    On the negative side:

    1.  Nations around the equator will pretty much be devastated.  What little farmland they have will be lost as the area becomes even more arid and their rivers and lakes dry up.  These countries, most already poor, will suffer food shortages and higher food prices probably leading to civil wars, food riots, and starvation (all of which they already have).

    2.  An increase in sea levels (possibly) that will create significant damage and flooding to coastal cities.

    3.  Significant changes to weather patterns leading to massive hurricanes and rain storms - although this is purely speculation.

    4.  An increase in tropical diseases in both plants and animals since the bacteria and insects that cause these diseases now have longer breeding seasons and now have much greater ranges.

In short, global warming will have both negative and positive effects.  Some parts of the world will benefit, some will be devastated.

The MAIN question that's being debated however, is not whether or not the earth is getting warmer.  The evidence is pretty conclusive.  The earth IS getting warmer.  The main question is WHY this is happening.  Is modern industrial society causing this climate change because of all the pollution we're creating (that's what you hear most often) or is it simply a natural cycle that the earth goes through every couple of hundred years or so?  That's what everyone is arguing back and forth on.

If people are causing the warming, then we should spend billions of dollars trying to reverse the process.  This includes looking at alternate fuels, recycling, pollution regulations, and so on.

If the warming is a natural cycle, then we don't have to spend money trying to change it and can spend billions of dollars on something else.

Because "billions of dollars" are involved either way you go, this issue is an important one.

Hope this at least gets you pointed in the right direction.

just thought i would show you this.  i watched it yesterday and it really makes you think!

  6. The true threat is global socialism......

  7. Google is your friend, Jacob.  It's been in the news for years.

  8. just want to add a few thoughts...

polar bears were only added to endangered list just to support global warming.

Co2 is not the biggest green house gas

[ Water vapor is one of the highest but not Co2]

and a lot of people who are famous for being anti-global warming have a lot of money invested in carbon credits, and other things that run on global warming

Scientists that worked studying global warming that disagree get discredited.

the programs used to predict the warming and the end of the earth in 10 years [ now 7 years and 5 months for literal terms ] were horribly written with inaccurate data.

    just a few thoughts

  9. It really is not a threat because Gore's so called truths are not really. Here is just a partial list of things wrong with Gore's version of science, or gorescience if you will.

Gore claims there is an overwhelming consensus of scientists who believe man made CO2 emissions are responsible for unprecedented global warming. In fact there is no such consensus. Many thousands of highly qualified scientists are on record saying they don’t believe Gore’s claims are true.

Gore claims the temperature of the Earth is at a historic high due to man made effects. But there have been other extended warming periods (in the Middle Ages, for one) that resulted from purely natural causes.

Gore claims that man-made CO2 is the primary cause of high global temperatures, but he overlooks these other important causes: sun's activity, long cycle changes in Earth’s orbit, CO2 concentrations changing constantly by the ocean's absorption and release, plants’ absorption of CO2, regular cycles in ocean currents, effects of other more powerful greenhouse gases including water vapor and methane, and other factors as well.

Gore claims that recent heavy hurricane seasons are caused by man made global warming. But hurricane experts say there is no such trend and the season to season variations are normal.

Gore claims that polar ice is melting because of man-made CO2 increases. But he leaves out other, more logical causes, as well as over-simplifying the mechanisms involved.  Melting has been occurring for 100s of years, not just recently, and is part of a longer term cycle.  The mainland of Antarctica is not changing at all, with only a peninsula melting because of higher local sea temperatures.

Gore claims global warming is responsible for the spread of diseases. But in fact many other factors are the root causes of the cases he cites.

  10. Glodal warming means that the increases in the temperatur of earth atmsphere due to their heat absording gases .eg carbondioxide etc. we can threat global warming by aforestion and  by less use of auto mobiles .if we are cuting a forest than at that place we should replant it also.We should think the futur oils like hydrogen ,bio gas ,other fuels that does not poduce any poolution.use of the device in industries of the less poduction of gases.
