Question:

What is the thumping heart beat noise in my ear?

Every few days for the past month I have this thumping noise in my ear. I don't have any pain, but I'm not sure what it's from or if I should see a doctor.

Could it be related to water in my ear? (not a swimmer)

I've also read it could be from high blood pressure. I'm in my 20's and in good health.

What could this be and should I get it checked out? It's really bothering me.

Thanks

  1. Hey you, I read somewhere that you may have pulsatile tinnitus. Tinnitus is a disorder in which you hear a sound even when there is no sound... sounds weird, but it is like ringing eares, or this thumping heart beat, or even like you hear your blood flowing type sound!

If you have pulsatile tinnitus the sound you hear is like heartbeat.

You should address see a doctor about this. You may need a hearing test, scan your blood vessels with ultrasound, ct scan, etc

Some people have ear infections that when treated the noise goes away and doesn't come back. Good Luck.
