What is the time difference between the USA Eastern Time Zone and the Philippines?

How many hours apart are the time zones? Please no military times, just plain regular hours, do appreciate it:)

so if it was 6 in the morning in manila

it would be 6 in the evening in new york

It is 12 hours later in the Philippines. (Until November 2, 2008 when it will be 13 hours later because of Daylight Savings in the US.)
