What is the time duration for american idol?

For season 7, what was the time duration for the auditioning episodes also, is there like a backstage video after like, with x-factor, you get xtra factor-is there anything like that on american idol?

Well auditions are between May and July.  They air auditions in January in both US an UK on Fox and ITV2 respectively.  I know a few seasons ago Kat Deeley did an Xtra Factor type show for American Idol but not sure she still does it as I am from UK.

don't know about the time duration . They used to have a back stage thing but they don't anymore however Simon said in a recent article things are changing a little bit next season so who knows ?

i think it was like an hour with the auditions... and also an hour with the regular show. oh.. and their are sometimes the time when their in the backstage. like the time when simon was visiting paula and terri in their rooms.. :)
