  2. i think the max amount under salary cap is around 11 mill, but no one has that much.

    im pretty sure the top salaries are crosby,malkin, lecavalier, brian campbell who all come under 9 mill.

    maybe sundin will become the top paid guy if he goes with vancouver's 2 year $20 mill contract...i doubt that!

  3. Here is the complete list of base salaries for 2008-2009 starting at $7.5MM or more

    $10,000,000  Dany Heatley (Ott)

    $ 9,000,000  Sidney Crosby (Pit)

    $ 9,000,000  Alexander Ovechkin (Wsh)

    $ 8,500,000  Miikka Kiprusoff (Cgy)

    $ 8,000,000  Daniel Briere (Phi)

    $ 8,000,000  Scott Gomez (NYR)

    $ 8,000,000  Jason Spezza (Ott)

    $ 8,000,000  Kimmo Timonen (Phi)

    $ 8,000,000  Thomas Vanek (Buf)

    $ 7,800,000  Bradley Richards (Dal)

    $ 7,750,000  Henrik Lundqvist (NYR)

    $ 7,500,000  Zdeno Chara (Bos)

    $ 7,500,000  Marian Gaborik (Min)

    $ 7,500,000  Ilya Kovalchuk (Atl)

    The maximum salary for 2008-2009 is $11.34MM based on a salary cap of $56.7MM

  4. The maximum salary is 20% of the cap I believe.  No one player can be paid more than 20% of the team's payroll.  If it isn't 20% exactly, it is something similar.  With the cap increasing to $56 mil (almost positive), that would put the maximum yearly salary at $11.2 million.  Last season it was around $10 mil.

    Edit - Thumbs down for what?  Bl0w me.
