What is the top speed of a Vespa S 50cc?

Thinking of getting one would like to know the top speed mph?

You will probably have a top speed of about 40mph... varies depending on rider weight.  You can make a few simple and cheap mods to get it going 55mph... only about 3-400 invested will get you there

It isnt about top speed when dealing with a 50cc.  It is about how usable the power will be for you in your specific riding enviroment.  In San Francisco I rode a Vespa ET2 50cc with a gal on the back.  It was great on the flat sections.  But when we went across town for dinner we would have to zig zag around to find the route with the most gentle grades.  For example... we could not make it up California Street "two-up".  

As for your answer... a 2004 Vespa ET2 did 38mph with two on a level street.  Not much more when riding single.  I weight 170.

Restricted to 35 mph or maybe a little faster if you weigh about 7 stone.
