Usually about 30-35 mph on flat level ground, although there are some that are a little faster. There are also some performance modifications that can increase performance a little bit.

A much better option is to take the MSF motorcycle safety class, get a motorcycle endorsement, then get a bigger scooter.

Generally a 50cc scooter will top out at around 40MPH.  There are a few, that derestricted, will get about 45MPH.  There are also a few scooters with a slew of aftermarket parts that will allow you to obtain 70+MPH (in particular the Kymco Super 9)

Well mostly depends on the moped.They usually start at about 35 Mph and end at about 45 Mph. Some have a better engine or motor. About 30. ALL of these are somewhere between toys and junk. Look to at least a 125cc and 250c is better.
